
Arun Menon was born in London, where he began his violin studies at the aged of 6. He entered the Royal College of Music as a junior student in 1997, and graduated with honours in 2003.
He is now studying for a Masters degree, supported by Jacqueline Ward and George Stennett Awards and an MBF Education Award. He has also received support from the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund and the Craxton Memorial Trust for further study in the UK and Finland. He continues to study viola with Simon Rowland-Jones, and violin with Dona Lee Croft.
Arun currently plays with the European Union Youth Orchestra, and has been a member of the National Youth Orchestra, and various RCM ensembles. He has also performed chamber music across the UK with the Prince Consort chamber ensemble.
On March 20th Arun will play on a modern French viola by Yann Besson, which the maker has generously lent for this concert.
