Membership and how to join

Membership is open to anyone from senior school-age upwards. No previous experience is necessary, and there are no auditions to join – we just ask that you sing in tune.

Types of membership

• singers / actors / dancers – those keen to perform

• non-performers

• Friends of HEOS

Will I be able to be in the current show when I join?

Yes, as long as it is not too near performance dates.

How much will it cost?

Subscription rates are reviewed annually, and may altered at the AGM in September; at the moment they are:

• an annual membership subscription (£30 full price / £15 for students, senior citizens, and those receiving benefits)

• a production levy for each show you take part in (£65 / £35 for the main show, £30 / £15 for the panto, £25/ £20 for the summer show.

• a minimum of £10 to be a ‘Friend”

What can non-performing member do?

Members not wishing to perform on stage are most welcome to help with such roles as:

• stage management / back stage crew / front of house team

• the production team / lighting or sound

• source or make costumes or props

• design or build the set

• publicity / box office

You are also welcome to our social events.

What are Friends of HEOS?

Friends take no active part, but like to support us by making a donation. They are welcome to all our social events, and receive our regular newsletter.

What is expected of me as a member?

Commitment and regular attendance at rehearsals for performing members is essential for the smooth running of a production. Members are also encouraged to help with various aspects of running the society.
