Whilst Handel’s oratorio is widely regarded as the pinnacle of seasonal music, this concert focuses instead on the work of his librettist, Charles Jennens, whose brilliant biblical scholarship is recast in a new sequence of Christmas motets, anthems and carols. The concert will feature music by Finzi, Palestrina, Naylor, Byrd and Taverner, alongside more familiar favourites.

Questors Choir are joined by the Aurelian Brass Ensemble in the St Martin’s 2017 Christmas Concert. Musical Director Philip Norman has penned new carol sequences involving choir, organ and brass, and arrangements for Little Drummer Boy and Mary’s Boy Child. The concert will also feature a Norwegian Christmas Fanfare, Holst’s Christmas Day, and much more. As usual, there will be choruses for everyone to join in.

We will be giving a Christmas concert in early December, followed by our family Christmas pantomime; and in early April we will be performing Made In Dagenham at The Questors Theatre in Ealing. There are no auditions to join the chorus, and no previous experience is necessary. WE ARE AUDITIONING FOR 2017-18 SEASON

Currently recruiting in all parts. Come and join us at open rehearsals on Tuesdays 19 and 26 September, followed by an informal audition with our musical director, Richard Bannan.
We are a well-regarded chamber choir known for our communicative singing and varied repertoire – from major oratorios to exquisite miniatures. Our 2017-18 season includes a Christmas concert featuring the works of Handel’s librettist Charles Jennens, and a collaboration with The Marian Consort performing the work of Thomas Tallis.
We rehearse at St Peter’s Church, Black Lion Lane, W6 on Tuesdays during term-time from 8-9.45pm. Annual subscription £190. We would love to hear from young singers; members aged 27 or under can join free of charge under our bursary scheme, subject to audition.

COME AND SING WITH QUESTORS CHOIR

Don’t be shy – come along and see what you make of us. Newcomers can attend up to three sessions on a free trial basis. There are no auditions, and all abilities and voice parts are welcome. Try us out and you’ll soon have a passion for choral singing!
Our repertoire is deliberately varied. Past concert performances include major works ranging from Baroque to contemporary, as well as folk songs, spirituals and carols. Above all, we aim to enjoy ourselves through singing. In addition to performing in three to four concerts a year, we also organise or take part in open singing days, choral workshops and singing festivals. Each Christmas we sing for a national or local charity selected by choir members.

Phiroz has lived in Ealing all his life. He studied piano with Eileen Rowe and gained a Masters in choral education at Roehampton. He currently sings with the BBC Symphony Chorus.

If you have sung on and off all your life, can sing in tune, read music and sight-read a simple line then you’ll enjoy our friendly choir.

We give three concerts a year, one per term.

We sing everything from the Brahms Requiem to songs written by living composers like Howard Goodall and Eric Whitacre.
